Felicity & Rich

3rd July, 2011

Honestly, where do I begin! Felicity is one of my most oldest and dearest friends from when we were 11 years old (this was when Hanson was all the rage - we were pretty much obsessed). She is one amazing lady and I was so overjoyed when I met her new Welsh love, Rich. These two are an absolute blast to be around in so many ways. I have so much love for them and when I was asked to bake for their wedding, of course I jumped at it. This was Coochie Cupcakes first interstate event and strangely enough, it was the most stress-free baking experience to date!

We secured the cupcake boxes like little bubs in the back seat and trekked down to the beautiful Lorne on the Great Ocean Road where the wedding of Mr. & Mrs. Morice was being held at Mantra. Flis and Rich chose alternating cupcakes of chocolate with coconut frosting and vanilla with rose water frosting. The seven tier cake stand held cupcakes embellished with purple sugar flowers for their 120 guests.

Every blessing as Flis and Rich start their new life together in Wales. We will miss you so much, but know that you have found yourself an amazing husband in Rich. Thank you for your amazing hospitality and generosity while we stayed in Melbourne.

I need to make a special to the Welsh crew who were there throughout the baking process: assisting in taste testing, offering styling advice and being an amazing cheer squad. Love you all!

Nic & Brenton Wedding

3rd July, 2011

I have worked with Nicole since our grad year as nurses. What can I say...?! She is such a joy, hilarious, one super happy chick and laid back. I always know Nic is at work when I can hear her giggling from down the hall. She has definitely been there for many fun times and times when I've nearly lost it altogether!

It was a joy to be a part of Nic and Brenton's special day. It may have been a little while in the making, but the 3rd of July was a day truly special for Nic and Brenton. During the quiet times at work we would research wedding locations. I think I may have even suggested Disneyland as a very realistic option....?! There was so much love in the air at Topiaries at Beaumont where the newly married couple recited their vowels and held a wonderful reception for 40 family and friends.

Nic and Brenton chose chocolate cupcakes with rose water icing for their guests resembling the colours depicted in the wedding.

A very big congratulations to you both as your start your life as husband and wife!

Jayde & Darren. Wedding

18th June, 2011

O what a joy it was baking for my beautiful sister in law and her new husband, Darren. The morning of June 18th was a clear blue sky and a beautiful crispness was in the air. 70 family and friends gathered at the Marriott Hotel in Brisbane City to watch Jayde and Darren tie the knot. Jayde looked every part the fairytale bride in a layered tulle dress and Darren was quite the gentleman in his sharp tuxedo.

Following the ceremony, scrumptious canapes were served to guests overlooking the picturesque view of the Brisbane River. I loved Jayde's little touches throughout the day, especially with the cupcake tower. Jayde and Darren chose dense white chocolate cupcakes with a subtle rose water frosting. Fresh roses were scattered between the cuppies and some love birds were perched on the top cutting cake. Such a fun day was had by all!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Bray! Every blessing as you start your new life together xx.

Tamar & Glen Wedding

26th February, 2011

Tamar + Glen = Glamar....

...or should I say country glamour!

Where to start! I have to say, this has been one of the most beautiful and unique weddings I have been to. Glen and Tamar put in so much thought, planning, hard work and love into making their special day a true reflection of them. Every detail was paid close attention to, creating a truly amazing atmosphere for their 90 guests. Wild flowers, fairy lights, lanterns, tea light candles, a photo booth, swing band and a delectable array of home style baked desserts (my mouth is actually watering right now just thinking about it now! Especially Sav's world famous brownies, thanks Sav!). These all added to the country glamour theme and transformed Mt Pleasant Hall into something special for that one night.

After the couple recited their vowels in a cobble stone chapel amongst the rolling hills of Mt Pleasant, not only the guests, but Glen and Tamar were ready to party.

The alternating cupcakes were a chocolate bailey's base with a coconut cream frosting and a vanilla base with rose water frosting. The very talented Tamar hand crafted satin flowers and little wooden birds which were perched on the top tier cutting cake (what a legend! There is nothing this girl can't do!).

Congratulations to the newly married Glamar couple! Such a memorable day, love you guys.

Amanda & Brenden Wedding

2nd April, 2011

I couldn't think of a more beautiful way to spend a Saturday afternoon than going for a scenic drive to Mt Tamborine. This glorious Saturday at the picturesque Cedar Creek Lodges was the stunning back drop to the wedding of my beautiful friends Amanda and Brenden. Guests were treated to a night of good food, fun and laughs amongst the rainforest. Before the dancing kicked into full swing, guests were enjoying the cupcakes to finish off the scrumptious meal.

Amanda and Brenden chose the 5 tier cake stand which held 70 cupcakes. The alternating flavours were a vanilla base with rose water icing, and a white chocolate base with white chocolate ganache (in my opinion, this is never too rich!). The top tier featured a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream icing. The very talented Julie (and mother of the beautiful bride) created a ceramic masterpiece of the newly married couple, which took pride of place in front of the cuppies.

A very big congratulations to this great couple for a special and amazing day. So much fun was had by all!

Little Milla Cupcakes

February, 2011

I was so excited to be doing these baptism cupcakes for a very special little lady, Milla. I just love all things pink, girly, pretty and lacy. So it was easy to capture all these things and create it into a cupcake. The pink lazer cut wrappers enhanced the fluffy vanilla and buttercream cupcakes. They were also surrounded by lots of other yummy morning tea treats for those celebrating baby Milla on this special occasion.

Congratulations to little Milla and the Alleway family on this special day!

Aleria & Andrew's Wedding

October 16th, 2010

What a perfect day for a wedding! Although the past few weeks have been so miserable (however, I love being able to cosy up indoors- it must still be the Melbourne in me..!), Saturday was no doubt Aleria & Andrew's day. Without a cloud in the sky, the bride and groom recited their vows and celebrated with family and friends at the Redland Bay Golf Club.

The themed colours from the wedding day were incorporated into the cupcake design. Aleria & Andrew chose the 6 tier cake stand holding chocolate cupcakes with a peppermint buttercream frosting, the finished product depicting an after dinner mint - perfect to finish off the evenings celebrations. The top tier held a chocolate cutting cake, trimmed with green ribbon. Aleria always had great ideas for the cakes, their 105 guests left the reception with a beautiful gift box with cupcake in hand.

Congratulations to you both on this exciting time!

Bec & Ben's Wedding

October 9th, 2010

Brisbane's continuing run of rainy weather did not stop Bec & Ben from celebrating their wedding day in true style. I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the beautiful bride in the foyer as I arrived to set up the cupcakes at the Stamford Plaza in Brisbane. It was a lot of fun meeting up with Bec & Ben, they had great ideas in mind and I was excited to incorporate their love of Bailey's into the chocolate mixture.

The 6 tier cake stand held 80 cupcakes for their guests, consisting of chocolate and chocolate Baileys bases, alternating with a dark chocolate ganache and chocolate fudge buttercream piping. O so decadent! The piped cupcakes were finished off with a red fondant heart with the initial 'B' for the newly married couple. The top tier chocolate cutting cake also held heart fondants to finish off the look.

Congratulations on your special day, you make a beautiful couple!

Bloom Fundraiser

September 12th, 2010

I love everything about cupcakes and I think everyone knows that by now.. Young and old, guys and girls, cupcakes are for everyone! But what I love even more is making them for other people and seeing the joy that it brings. A couple of weeks ago I was able to do just that by hosting a fundraising picnic at New Farm Park. The weather could not have been more perfect and I am so appreciative to those who came out to support Bloom and Coochie Cupcakes. We also had some awesome prizes raffled off from our great sponsors.

After most of the cupcakes were eaten and the sun began to set, we ventured home and counted the money raised. The grand total raised $1331. This by far exceeded my expectations and I am so proud to be forwarding this amount onto Bloom. I believe in the awesome work Bloom is doing for the girls over in Cambodia and I was so excited to be putting together this event in an attempt to impact their lives in some way.

Although it was great to see everyone chilling out in true picnic style on a sunny Queensland winter's day, I couldn't help but think of the girls who have fallen victim to a life of human trafficking. Although I may not see the joy on their faces from what was achieved on the weekend, I know they are so thankful to all of you who took part and supported them by buying a cupcake. Thanks again for your generosity! Until next time.

Heidi & Michael Wedding

June 26th, 2010

What a pleasure it was baking for my dear friend Heidi and her new husband Michael. I think everyone came to the ceremony in high spirits knowing this was not only going to be a very special, but very fun, bubbly day, just like Heidi. Cherbon Waters at Burbank was a picture perfect location where the newlyweds recited their vows to each other, the lake a stunning backdrop . Guests were seated in a white marquee where we greeted the new Mr. & Mrs. Denner.

The vintage theme of the wedding was carried through to the cupcakes, where each tier on the stand held ivory lace. Heidi and Michael chose alternating bases of chocolate and vanilla with a subtle rose water icing for their 130 family and friends.

All the very best to my beautiful friends, congratulations!

Emily & Andrew Wedding

March 27th, 2010

The most recent cupcake gig was for the lovely Emily and Andrew. I had so much fun making the cupcakes for these guys, knowing it was for them. They are a pretty cool couple, fun to be around and their fun attitude was reflected throughout their wedding day. The weather was picture perfect as the bride walked down the aisle for the garden ceremony held at Indooroopilly Golf Club.

Much fun was had by all at the reception, from the lolly buffet (soo good, and I hear there are still lollies to last the rest of the year), the photo booth with fun props (see LadyJayde Photography) and dancing well into the night. Lots of dancing.. well, by Vic and myself at least. And then of course there were the cupcakes!

I was excited to use the beautiful, ivory laser cut wrappers that enhance any cupcake event. The 6 tiered stand held 80 chocolate cupcakes and a chocolate top cake. The alternating icing flavours were chocolate fudge and rose water. Congrats guys! You make a stunning couple.

Gracienne & Jason's Wedding

January 24th, 2010

On the weekend I made a cupcake tower for the wedding of Gracienne and Jason. The ballroom at Victoria Park was set up superbly, awaiting the arrival of the newlyweds to kick off the celebrations.

The couple chose the 6 tiered cupcake tower, featuring a chocolate cutting cake with ribbon. The chocolate bases were finished with alternating vanilla buttercream and a white chocolate ganache with rose flavoured persian fairy floss. I found the persian fairy floss in a store at South Bank a couple of months ago and was so delighted to finally use it! I love Gracienne's unique style and thought it would fit in well with her tastes and theme of the wedding.

Congratulations, hope you guys had a great time!

1st Birthday

January 9th, 2010

Recently I baked cupcakes for our little cousin, Beniah's, 1st birthday. It was a lovely morning with lots of mingling, toddlers playing and yummy food (thanks to the dazzling cooking skills of Beniah's mum, Amy).

The chocolate cupcake base was topped with a vanilla buttercream, in Beniah's favourite colour blue and various sizes of silver cachous. I think he liked them...

JF Media Cupcakes

December 12th, 2009

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than baking many, many Christmas cupcakes! Recently I had the pleasure to bake custom made, corporate cupcakes for the lovely team at JF Media.

Double BoxSix Pack

The cupcake bases were vanilla and white chocolate and featured an alternating design of Christmas trees and stars in the fun JF Media corporate colours on a vanilla buttercream frosting.

I had lots of fun packaging the cupcakes in boxes and finishing them with tags and ribbon. The team distributed the finished product to their clients for Christmas. The team at JF Media have an established name within the media industry for adsales and were great to work with.

Laurene & Nathan's Wedding

November 28th, 2009

In November I had the pleasure of making a wedding cupcake tower for good friends Laurene & Nathan. They are such a beautiful couple and the day was just perfect.

Guests were hesitant of the grey clouds rolling towards the Hastings Point lookout, but just after the stunning bride walked down the aisle, the rain held off as the nuptials were made. There were lots of smiles that day, and how could there not be...an amazing backdrop for the ceremony and close friends and family to surround the newly married couple as the celebrations continued into the afternoon.

The cupcake tower featured vanilla cupcakes with alternating designs of white chocolate ganache with white chocolate curls and a vanilla butter cream piping. The pale blue theme of the wedding was carried through the cake presentation with small blue sugar flowers and ribbon.

Guests enjoyed the cupcakes as some unique dance moves broke out on the dance floor.

Congratulations you guys!!

Lauren & Pete's Wedding

September 26th, 2009

I recently had the privilege to bake for my good friends wedding, Lauren & Pete. They chose the 6 tiered cupcake tower which fitted in perfectly with the high tea reception, at the Stamford Plaza on the Brisbane River. I baked 130 cupcakes and the cutting cake for this beautiful couple. The chocolate cupcakes featured alternate toppings of piped chocolate fudge and silky dark chocolate ganache finished with edible gold foil. The cutting cake was also a chocolate cake topped with chocolate fudge frosting.
